May 2026 Estate Planning Competition Terms and Conditions

Giveaway terms & conditions

1. Promoter

The promoter of this trade promotion is Mildura Law Pty Ltd trading as Middleton Maisner Legal of Mildura, Victoria (Promoter).

 

2. Promotion Period

The promotion commences at 9:00am AEST on Wed, 29 April 2026 and closes at 11:59pm AEST on Wed, 27 May 2026 (Promotion Period).

Entries received outside this period will not be eligible.

 

3. Eligibility

3.1 Entry is open to individuals who:

  • Are aged 18 years or over

  • Reside in the Sunraysia region and surrounding areas, including Mildura, Far West NSW and the Mallee

  • Are willing and able to attend a consultation at Middleton Maisner’s Mildura office

  • Are not partners, employees, contractors or immediate family members of Middleton Maisner Legal

3.2 By entering the promotion, entrants confirm that they meet the eligibility requirements.

3.3 The promoter reserves the right to deny service to anyone that violates our ethical rules on conflicts of interest.

3.4 The promoter reserves the right to verify eligibility at any time.

 

4. How to Enter

4.1 To enter, participants must, during the Promotion Period:

  • Like the official competition post on the Middleton Maisner Legal Facebook page

  • Follow the Middleton Maisner Legal Facebook page

  • Tag another person in the comments of the competition post

4.2 Each tag counts as one (1) entry. Multiple entries are permitted.

4.3 Entrants may receive an additional entry for sharing the competition post (if applicable).

4.4 Entry into the promotion is free.

4.5 Incomplete, indecipherable, fraudulent or duplicate entries may be disqualified.

 

5. Prize

5.1 There are three (3) prizes only.

5.2 The prize consists of a Family Estate Planning Package valued at $1,415 (inclusive of GST), including:

  • One professionally drafted Will per spouse or defacto partner
     

  • One Enduring Power of Attorney per spouse or de facto partner
     

  • One Medical Treatment Decision Maker document per spouse or defacto partner
     

  • All incidental legal advice, care and attention required to prepare the documents

 

5.3 The prize will be prepared by Middleton Maisner Legal's team at its Mildura office.

5.4 The prize:

  • Is not transferable
     

  • Is not exchangeable
     

  • Is not redeemable for cash
     

  • Must be redeemed within six (6) months of the winner being notified
     

5.5 The prize includes standard estate planning services only and does not include:

  • Testamentary trusts
     

  • Complex estate structures
     

  • Business succession planning (although this can be accounted for if applicable)
     

  • Estate disputes or litigation
     

  • Court proceedings
     

  • Government or court filing fees
     

  • Out-of-pocket expenses
     

If additional legal work is required, it will be charged at Middleton Maisner Legal's standard rates. You will be advised ahead of time if any such work or expenses are required.

 

6. Winner Selection

6.1 The winner will be selected by random draw from all eligible entries.

6.2 The draw will take place at Middleton Maisner’s Mildura office on or before 29 May 2026.

6.3 The winner will be notified via Facebook and/or contact details provided within two (2) business days.

6.4 If the winner cannot be contacted within seven (7) days, a redraw may occur.

6.5 The Promoter’s decision is final.

 

7. Conditions of Awarding the Prize

7.1 The provision of the prize is subject to:

  • Completion of Middleton Maisner Legal's standard client engagement agreement
     

  • Conflict of interest checks
     

  • Compliance with professional and ethical obligations including but not limited to refraining from acting against previous or existing clients and holding the necessary legal decision making capacity to establish the necessary documents.
     

7.2 If the Promoter is unable to act for the winner due to a conflict of interest or other professional obligation, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize and redraw.

7.3 The winner must attend an appointment at Middleton Maisner Legal's Mildura office to receive the prize.

 

8. Privacy

8.1 Personal information collected as part of this promotion will be used for:

  • Administering the promotion
     

  • Contacting entrants
     

  • Providing information about Middleton Maisner Legal's services
     

8.2 By entering the promotion, entrants consent to being contacted by Middleton Maisner Legal in relation to this promotion and related legal services.

8.3 Entrants may opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time.

8.4 All personal information will be handled in accordance with legal industry standards.

 

9. Publicity

9.1 The winner agrees to the publication of:

  • Their first name
     

  • Their suburb
     

  • Promotional photographs or social media posts (with consent)
     

9.2 No additional compensation will be provided for publicity.

 

10. Liability

10.1 To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered in connection with:

  • Entry into the promotion
     

  • Acceptance of the prize
     

  • Use of the prize
     

10.2 Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

 

11. General

11.1 The Promoter reserves the right to:

  • Verify entries
     

  • Disqualify any entrant who breaches these Terms
     

  • Cancel, suspend or modify the promotion if required
     

11.2 If the promotion cannot proceed as planned due to circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control, the Promoter may take appropriate action.

 

12. Acceptance

By entering this promotion, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
